Privacy policy
Your audio is processed on your device.
Last updated: 9 October 2026. This policy covers earchords.com.
Audio and chord analysis
Selected audio files and microphone or tab recordings are decoded and analyzed in your browser. EarChords does not send the audio, filenames or generated chord sheets to an EarChords server or an advertising service. Starting a new song replaces the active song; closing the page ends the active browser session. Copies you export remain wherever you choose to save them.
Permissions and preferences
Microphone and screen or tab-capture permissions are requested only when you choose those features. You can stop recording in the tool and revoke permissions in your browser. We store your light or dark theme choice in local storage under “cs-theme”. You can remove it by clearing this site’s data.
Hosting and fonts
Cloudflare serves this website and may process request information such as your IP address, browser information, requested URLs and timing to deliver and protect the site. Some pages request Google Fonts; these requests transmit network information to Google. These requests do not contain your uploaded audio.
Third-party listening
Song pages can embed YouTube players or link to YouTube. Loading or using a player can send information to Google and YouTube and use cookies or similar storage under their policies. Our local audio-analysis privacy promise does not cover third-party players.
Advertising
Advertising is currently disabled in the website configuration. If Google Ad Manager advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage or other identifiers and process information such as IP addresses, browser information and ad interactions to deliver ads, measure performance and prevent fraud. Your audio and recognition results are not used for ad targeting.
Where required, advertising choices will be provided through a consent management platform before advertising is activated. A privacy notice alone is not consent. You can also manage cookies and site permissions in your browser and Google advertising preferences in My Ad Center. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
